Due to continued growth, we are now recruiting additional class one tramper drivers to join our team with vacancies available throughout the UK.

This role involves working away from home Monday to Friday with the occassional requirement for working on a Saturday morning, delivering bulk product nationwide.

• Sound geographical knowledge and understanding of EU drivers hours rules
• Experience of bulk haulage preferred

We’re looking for reliable, experienced Class 1 drivers who enjoy varied work and the freedom of cab‑hopping. As a Cab Hopper, you will cover driver holidays each week across our modern fleet.

About the Role

A.W. Jenkinson Transport Ltd is seeking an experienced LGV Traffic Controller to join our busy and well‑established Transport Office in Penrith.

This is a full-time, fully office-based role, working 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, inclusive. It’s a fast-paced, hands-on position that suits someone who enjoys problem‑solving and working as part of a team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and managing collections and deliveries for bulk and palletised loads
• Producing efficient route plans to maximise vehicle utilisation and minimise empty running and costs
• Ensuring full compliance with drivers’ hours, tachograph legislation, and health & safety requirements
• Liaising professionally with customers, drivers, and internal teams to maintain excellent communication
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure operational targets and service levels are met

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

• Previous experience in an LGV traffic or transport planning role for bulk and or palletised operations
• A strong working knowledge of drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations
• Excellent route planning, organisational, and navigation skills
• A calm, practical approach to problem‑solving in a busy environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
