LGV C+E (Class1) Tramper Drivers - Bulk Haulage

A.W. Jenkinson Transport Ltd operate a large fleet of modern vehicles with 17 depots located throughout the UK.

Due to continued growth, we are now recruiting additional class one tramper drivers to join our team with vacancies available throughout the UK.

This role involves working away from home Monday to Friday with the occassional requirement for working on a Saturday morning, delivering bulk product nationwide.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence with LGV C+E (class1)
  • Minimum 1yr C+E driving experience
  • Maximum of 6 penalty points
  • Valid DCPC & digital tachograph
  • Sound geographical knowledge and understanding of EU drivers hours rules
  • Experience of bulk haulage preferred

LGV Mechanic / Fitter - Penrith

A.W. Jenkinson Transport Ltd has a vacancy for an experienced and qualified LGV Mechanic/Fitter to work at our Gilwilly site, repairing and maintaining LGV units and a varied range of trailers including walking floors, timber cranes, tippers, and curtain sided trailers.

The ideal applicant will have experience of maintaining LGV’s taking into account Health and Safety requirements whilst making the best use of time and resources.

Hours of work are variable but worked during dayshift, Monday to Friday inclusive, with alternate Saturdays. However, depending on workload, there may be a requirement to work additional hours.

Ideally you will come from a time served LGV background having attained appropriate City & Guilds, NVQ or B/TEC qualifications. More importantly you will have experience of working in a Heavy Goods Vehicle workshop.

The Role:

  • Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, MOT Preparation and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to VOSA standard.
  • Carry out a wide range of defect repairs.
  • Perform minor and major repairs on lorries and trailers.
  • Carry out fault diagnostic, troubleshooting and rectification using the manufacturers computer systems.
  • Complete job cards and service sheets in a timely manner.
  • Repair and refurbish company trailers.
  • LGV Licence desired however not essential.
  • Good housekeeping routines to meet H&S requirements.

Senior Health & Safety Supervisor - Meriden

A.W. Jenkinson Transport Ltd requires an experienced Senior Health & Safety Supervisor based at Meriden to work as part of our Health, Safety and Training Team. The business operates in excess of 800 LGVs with maintenance workshops over four separate sites and several depots around the  UK.

The position will involve maintaining a high standard of health and safety to reduce the frequency and risk of workplace incidents and injuries, and work-related ill-health. It will also include carrying out regular checks of equipment, workplaces, sites and personnel through inspections and audits to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards 

Duties include but not limited to:

  • develop, maintain, communicate and review  risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments, etc. for all employees at transport depots and maintenance sites;
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, and maintain accident statistics including root cause analysis.  
  • promote incident, accident and near miss reporting
  • ensure safe working procedures are in place, communicated and adhered to;
  • carry out workplace inspections, audits and site  safety walk throughs;
  • carry out random drug and alcohol testing;
  • identifying and managing H&S training requirements and developing internal training.

The successful candidate will have a NEBOSH qualification or equivalent with at least five years experience as a senior member of a busy H&S department. Sound knowledge and experience of identifying risk and providing solutions to mitigate such risk, including thorough auditing of the workplace, sites and internal processes are key.  They will also be confident liaising with Senior Managers and colleagues and be able to manage your own time effectively.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion are essential. A strong knowledge and understanding of the transport industry, including DVSA regulations will be ideal, but not essential. As this position will involve travel, a full driving licence is essential as is a flexible approach to working hours (early starts may be required).

LGV Compliance Administrator - Penrith

A. W. Jenkinson Transport Ltd is looking for an LGV Compliance Administrator who will be based at our Transport Offices, Penrith.  

Working as part of the compliance team, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of the companies driver compliance with Drivers Hours Rules and Working Time Regulations, utilising existing systems and documentation. You will also be responsible for ensuring relevant compliance documents are completed and returned, keeping files and records up to date, preparing reports and general administration.

The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively and provide accurate information whilst maintaining a high level of confidentiality. The position will require day to day communication with colleagues and drivers. Excellent I.T. and administration skills are essential. An understanding of the logistics industry is desirable but not essential as training will be provided. 

A current full driving licence is essential as some of the work will involve travel to other company depots. This is a full-time office role, working Monday to Friday inclusive. However, we can be flexible with regards to start and finish times.

LGV C+E Drivers – Days/Nights (Immingham)

Due to continued growth, we have a number of new opportunities available for additional class one drivers to join our team in Immingham.

The role will be for dayshift and nightshift with various shift patterns available:

  • 4 on/4 off

    Or - 

     

  • Sunday to Thursday
  • Tuesday to Saturday

Dayshift start time 6am / Nightshift start time 6pm.

Please note, customer site H&S rules stipulate drivers must be clean shaven due to the dusty environment / correct use of PPE.

Office Supervisor - Gilwilly, Penrith

A.W. Jenkinson Transport Ltd requires an experienced Office Supervisor to provide support to our Health, Safety and Training Team based at our Training Centre, Gilwilly Industrial Estate, Penrith.

The position will involve managing an administrative team and supporting the Health and Safety Manager and Driver Training Team. 

Duties include:

  • Managing our electronic Health and Safety System;
  • Processing invoices;
  • Checking driver timesheets, expenses and dealing with queries;
  • Booking hotels;
  • Ensuring driver training records are up to date and new driver documentation is completed and processed accordingly.

The successful candidate must be well organised, efficient, numerate and have excellent I.T. and communication skills.  They would have supervisory experience and a good understanding of health and safety, preferably from a logistics role. A health and safety qualification would be beneficial.

Administrator - Howden

We are looking for an Administrator to provide support to our busy Transport Office, based in Howden.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate inputting of data into various systems. They will need good attention to detail, a high level of accuracy and to be a good communicator. Problem solving skills and ability to maintain confidentiality are essential. Experience of working under pressure and to deadlines would be beneficial. 

Hours of work are 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday inclusive. The role is fully office based, therefore the successful candidate will need to be able to get themselves to and from our office in Howden each day.

Excellent administration, communication and I.T. skills are essential. You should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. An understanding of the logistics industry is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
