Brian Blenkharn retires after 37 years with A.W. Jenkinson

After more than 37 years with A.W. Jenkinson Transport, we bid farewell to Brian Blenkharn, who retires after having played a pivotal role in the business’s from its early days to the major player it is today.

Brian’s career in haulage began over 47 years ago, behind the wheel at Ken Carruthers in Appleby-in-Westmorland. He joined Allan Jenkinson in 1988. His first truck was a Scania 112, reg C823OHH paired with a tipper trailer. Brian quickly moved into the office as a transport controller, and by 2014, he became a Director of A.W. Jenkinson Transport Ltd.

Brian has seen it all – from the days of two-way radios and tacho charts to GPS tracking and telematics. Over the decades he’s watched the humble wagon become a high-tech logistics marvel.
